Getting Started with "HELP"
The HELP sections of the Iowa AEA Online resources provide excellent guides to help you get started using the products. As you become familiar with each product, the HELP sections can assist you in becoming an "expert" researcher! The information below gives you a brief look at what is available in each product's HELP section. Go to www.iowaaeaonline.org and login prior to following the steps below.
AccuWeather
- Click on AccuWeather
- Scroll to the bottom of the page.
- Click on the Help link to go to AccuHelp.
- What you will find: Frequently Asked Questions, information on the Photo Gallery and more.
AP Images
- The online help for AP images is under development.
- To download a printed "HELP" guide click here.
- What you will find: This reference guide gives you a complete overview of the AP Images website including searching, navigation, advanced searching, downloading, and more.
Atomic Learning
- Click on Atomic Learning.
- Click on the Support link in the blue menu bar across the top of the page.
- Click on the Atomic Toolkit.
- Click on "Training and implementation resources." (Left side of screen.)
- Click on All about Atomic Learning.
- What you will find: Tutorials to get started and tutorials that review each resource within Atomic Learning, including Lesson Accelerators, Teacher2Teacher, Assessment Tools and more. In addition there is a “Getting Started Guide” and a “FAQ” for Atomic Learning on the Support page.
Clipart.com School Edition
- Click on Clipart.com.
- Click on the “Help” link in the black menu bar in the upper right hand corner of the first page.
- What you will find: Information to help you get started with hints for browsing and searching the site. Also, included is information on downloading, installing and opening images and fonts.
DE streaming
- Click on DE Streaming.
- Click on the Help link for DE streaming, located in the upper right-hand corner of the screen.
- What you will find: Sections on Getting Started, Professional Development, Teacher Center Tools, Customizing Your Experience, Troubleshooting, and Technical Documentation. A list of Frequently Asked Questions is displayed for easy access. If you are not able to find what you need help with, there is a “Search Help” area where keywords can be entered to assist in locating appropriate help.
EBSCO
- Click on EBSCO.
- When you enter EBSCO, you will see a list of the available research databases. As you enter each database, there is a Help button in the upper right-hand corner of the screen.
- What you will find: Information related to each database, along with a link to view tutorials. On the left-hand side of the screen will be a list of “Help” topics broken into categories such as Searching, Browsing, Saving Searches and Alerts, and more.
- NOTE: EBSCO makes immediate Help available within the database. Click on any question mark in a blue circle for additional help pertaining to the database or screen you are on.
LEARN360
- Login to Learn360 and click on the "Help Center" link or go directly to the "Help Center" at http://www.learn360.com/HelpCenter.aspx
- All the flash tutorials are located on the main page. All of the user guides, including a "Quick Start" guide are located on the right-hand side menu.
SIRS Researcher
- Click on SIRS Researcher.
- Click on SIRS Knowledge Source.
- Click on the “Help” link for SIRS Researcher located in the upper right-hand corner of the screen.
- What you will find: Help with Search Methods and Database Features which include Leading Issues, Maps of the World, and more.
World Book Web
Click on World Book Web. There are four products available within World Book. (See bottom menu bar for links to Help, Tutorials and other support information.)
- World Book Student.
- Click on the Help button at the bottom of the screen.
- What you will find: On the left side of the Help screen is a list of terms with quick links to information. Links to Frequently Asked Questions and a Customer Training Guide are also found at the bottom of the screen.
- World Book Kids
- Click on the Help button at the bottom of the screen.
- What you will find: On the left side of the Help screen is a list of terms with quick links to information. Within the Introduction you will find an online tutorial for World Book Kids. Atlas, the dog, gives a tour of the website.
- World Book Spanish-Language Encyclopedia
- Click on the Help link in the upper right-hand corner of the screen.
- What you will find: Help is provided in Spanish.
- World Book Advanced
- Click on the Help link at the bottom of the screen.
- What you will find: On the left-hand side of the screen there is a list of terms with quick links to information and within that list are links to a Customer Training Guide and Frequently Asked Questions.
