Getting Started with User Guides and "HELP"

The HELP sections of the Iowa AEA Online resources provide excellent guides to help you get started using the products. As you become familiar with each product, the HELP sections can assist you in becoming an "expert" researcher! The information below gives you a brief look at what is available in each product's HELP section. Go to www.iowaaeaonline.org prior to following the steps below.

 

AP Images

  • Go to Iowa AEA Online at http://www.iowaaeaonline.org/
  • Click on AP Images.   (Log in if prompted.)
  • Click on “Help” in the upper left hand corner.
  • A 26 page PDF User Guide will download.

Atomic Learning

  • Go to Iowa AEA Online at http://www.iowaaeaonline.org/
  • Click on Atomic Learning.  (Log in if prompted.)
  • Click on “Help” in the upper right hand corner.
  • Under the “Support” drop down menu in the blue menu bar at the top of the page, select “Getting Started”.
  • Click on “View the Getting Started Guide”.

Britannica Online

  • Go to:  http://www.school.eb.com/
  • Click on the “Teachers’ Resources” tab at the top of the page.
  • Click on “New Online Training”
  • In the “Educators’ Resources” dropdown menu at the top of the page go to “Free Training Materials”
  • Click on “Guided Tours” (PDFs)

CultureGrams

  • Go to:  http://online.culturegrams.com/
  • Click on “Training Resources” at the bottom of the page.
  • Click on the “Training and Support” tab at the top of the page.
  • Scroll down to “CultureGrams” and click on “Quick Start Guide”.

iClipart For Schools

  • Go to Iowa AEA Online at http://www.iowaaeaonline.org/
  • Click on iCLIPART For Schools.  (Log in if prompted.)
  • Click on “Need Help?” in the middle of the screen.
  • Select the topic you need help with.

Gale

  • Go to: http://support.gale.com
  • On the right hand side of the page click on “Training Materials”
  • Click on “Navigation Guides” and select the guide of your choice.

SIRS Researcher

  • Go to Iowa AEA Online at http://www.iowaaeaonline.org/
  • Click on SIRS Issues Researcher.  (Log in if prompted.)
  • Click on “SIRS Knowledge Source”.
  • Scroll to the bottom of the page and click on “Educators’ Resources”.
  • Scroll to the Educator’s Guides and Student Handouts on the left hand side of the page.
  • Click on the topic you would like more information on.
